EXAMPLE / AFTER

Design Society · Exhibition volunteer Organized exhibitor sign-ups and communicated delivery times for the end-of-term exhibition, keeping participating students informed before the event.

A fictional student has no full-time role yet, but helped organize a campus event. Their notes contain useful experience without needing a more impressive job title.

The role stays accurate: volunteer experience is valuable without becoming a fictional management position.

Specific actions show organization and communication more clearly than a list of adjectives.

Add dates and the society’s name from your own records before using an entry like this.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

A clearer way forward.

  1. 01

    Collect the facts

Write down your education, roles, projects and practical skills. Include dates and what you actually contributed. If you already have a resume, import it as a starting point.

  2. 02

    Build a readable first draft

Add your contact details and relevant entries in Edit resume. Describe an action, its context and an outcome when you know it. Use the AI assistant to help articulate a difficult passage.

  3. 03

    Give it a clear shape

Review the order and presentation in Design. Keep the most relevant experience easy to find, then inspect the preview and downloaded PDF before sharing it.

A LITTLE MORE DETAIL

Before you get started.

What can I include if I have little work experience?

Relevant coursework, personal projects, volunteering and part-time work can all demonstrate skills. Explain your contribution clearly and label each experience honestly.

Should I choose a design before writing?

You can explore presentation as you work, but having a rough draft first makes it easier to judge space and emphasis. Content editing and Design remain separately available.

Can I bring an existing resume?

Yes. Import resume is available from the resume library. Review the resulting draft for accuracy, especially names, dates and section structure, before relying on it.
